i dont know if this has been discussed in forum before... but i have heard that in some places, the society still asks for money for their "life-saving products.
" two countries in particular have been pointed as being pay-per-mag operated.
australia and (of all places) africa.

do you think it is the fact that jehovahs witness do a very obivious preaching campian, that convinces them that it is the true religion.when all the doubts you can think off have been raised they seem to just say "well we are the only ones that do the preaching work".
without the preaching work would it be harder for people to cling on to the religion, what else could they fall back on to convince themselves,it would be very difficult.
they also think that they are the only people in the world that displays love... they always have a million experiences of how some brother went to some country and stayed with some other brother simply because they were both JW's. YAY.

i am working on a david letterman type of ?top ten list?
to publicize my seminars with local churches.
sort of the top ten reasons a pastor would want his parishioners to become more familiar with the beliefs and practices of jehovah's witnesses.
the Bible for what it is - an arbitrary collection of ancient Jewish historical and mythological books that have little relevance to our times
obviously TowerWatch is a christian. and as such, believes in the bible. try to use a little tact next time. if you want to bash the bible, start a new post. then let people respond to it. thanks! i wouldn't normally say anything, but he is asking for people's help on a certain topic. and your opinion just seemed a little out of place.

i have asked this to witnesses and they say it's their spirit, which is their life forces that goes up to heaven... that makes no sense to me.
because isn't the spirit, in effect, taking on the properties we normally consider the soul as having?
so what's the difference what you call it?
i agree with u kes152. i have come to an appreciation of that through my reading of the new testament. i guess i should have made my post more clear as to what i meant exactly. it was a hypothetical symantical question posed to those jehovah's witnesses who believe that the soul is attached to the body and that no part of us is immortal. how do they justify their stance from a metaphysical standpoint? but thank u for putting forth an effort to help make others' minds over to christ.

ok, i admit it...as a jehovah's witness, i burned a book.
when i was about 10 years old, a sister gave my mother a box of books.
i had been baptized for over a year and was quite the "little witness.
if there was an archaelogist that was a jdub, and he dug up the cross that jesus actually died on, would he have to burn it? probably the society would tell him to burn the horizontal wood piece to make it into a stake, so they could "prove" that jesus died on a straight pole instead of a cross

i am getting news from jws who have attended the district convention that the drama (which is pre-recorded and played to lip-syncing actors) has a demon-possessed woman with a ?demonic voice?.
can anyone confirm this?
it is said to be pretty creepy sound effect and many jws are uncomfortable when they hear it.
yes i made it to the sunday of the convention and the drama was about a woman possessed. it was actually the most well-done drama i have ever seen. and im very old! kidding. but i have seen many many many shitty dramas in my short time. i had heard about it before i went cuz a buddy of mine saw it at an early convention. and i was wondering whether it was actually going to be scriptural when the man (the apostle paul) expelled the demon from this woman. from the earliest i can remember, i was told that if i saw a demon, to say "go away in the name of jehovah." when i actually read the bible, i realised that the apostles and disciples did everything in the name of jesus. and that surprised and upset me. so i wanted to see how the apostle paul (knowing full well what the scripture says) would expell the demon. well to my great surprise, he actually expelled it in the name of Jesus. hmmmmmm no wonder all my demons stayed when i used jehovah. now i know which name is the most powerful.
